Finally, Instagram will now let you hide nasty comments under your insta-pics. The feature appeared in August, and allows users to auto-hide any offensive words or phrases. The new option appears as ‘comment moderation’ in the sub-menu of your Instagram app.

In a blog post, CEO Kevin Systrom said, "All different types of people – from diverse backgrounds, races, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and more – call Instagram home, but sometimes the comments on their posts can be unkind … So, today, we’re taking the next step to ensure Instagram remains a positive place to express yourself. The first feature we’re introducing is a keyword moderation tool that anyone can use."

It’s a great step in the right direction, and you can add your own custom phrases to filter out as well as the cuss words. As most people know, filters don’t stop all the trolls, so it’s still important to moderate your page.

The feature is live on iOS and Android.
